What is the UltraFlora® range?
The UltraFlora® range is a live bacteria range at heart of the Metagenics® brand, featuring science backed strains that have been clinically tested to stay in the gut for 24hrs. “Ultra” denotes the power of the brand with strong doses to match clinical research, and “Flora” denotes friendly bacteria which are known as gut flora and together make up your gut microbiome.
How is this different from your other live bacteria supplements?
Designed for daily use, UltraFlora® Everyday capsules are a high potency, live bacteria supplement providing high amounts of two well researched strains of live bacteria in a 50:50 ratio. As well as providing 15 billion live bacteria, each capsule also provides 100iu of vitamin D in the body's preferred form, vitamin D3, for everyday bone, muscle and immune support.
Can we become dependent on probiotics if we use them regularly?
Unlike laxatives which can cause the gut to become ‘lazy’, probiotics are safe for daily use and there is no research to suggest that the body can become reliant on them.
Which live bacteria strains are included?
The strains in this product have been specifically selected for everyday use. The NCFM® strain of Lactobacillus acidophilus has been chosen as it is the most well-researched strain of L.acidophilus in the world. Combined with this is the Bi-07 strain of Bifidobacterium lactis as this strain has been proven to survive stomach acidity and reach the gut alive.
How long before I feel an effect?
For some people, you may notice an immediate effect when you start to take good quality probiotics, but it all depends on the reason for taking them and the condition of your gut health. Allow up to 2 weeks for the bacteria to 'settle in' as during this time you may experience slight changes to your symptoms such as increased bloating and a change to bowel frequency. However this is normal whilst the bacteria are establishing theirselves as residents in your gut and will soon settle down. In order to see an overal improvement in gut health we recommend using probiotics for at least 2 months, and for most adults who feel the benefit of probiotics, then long-term use would be advised and is considered very safe.
Can UltraFlora® Everyday be given to children under 12?
UltraFlora® Everyday is suitable for children requiring higher strength probiotics, for example following illness or antibiotic use.
What does “24-hour gut support” mean?
When a probiotic offers 24-hour gut support, it means its strains survive the trip through stomach acid and stay active in your intestines for roughly a full day. While they’re on duty, these clinically studied “good bugs” carry out their beneficial tasks – but they don’t take up permanent residence. Most move on after a short stay, so you have to refresh the supply. Daily consistent use keeps the helpful bacteria in your body around the clock, making it easier for you to feel your best every day.

Can capsule be opened and sprinkled onto food? Yes
Are there any side effects from taking probiotics? You may experience a change in bowel function/habits for a few days which may present as a gurgling/wind/change in bowel frequency. This is perfectly natural with taking any probiotic and will generally settle down after a week or so. Reducing the dosage may help alleviate this.
Metagenics supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Results may vary between individuals.

The vitamin D3 in this product is from lanolin – a vegetarian source of vitamin D3.
It may be particularly beneficial for post-antibiotic use.

Does UltraFlora® Everyday Capsules contain FOS? No
This product is hypoallergenic / does not contain any of the 14 major allergens listed in Annex II (1169/2011) of the EU Food Information for Consumers Regulation.

An Overview of Returns and Refunds
Unless faulty, you can only return a product if unopened, unused and with the original seals, packaging or tags intact. Unfortunately, it is also not possible to issue a refund for a supplement that your pet doesn't like or doesnt agree with them. All animals are unique with their own likes and dislikes.
You can return an unwanted item for a full refund (including minimum postage costs you could have chosen when placing your order) within 14 days of receiving it. You must notify us of your intention to cancel the order and you must return the item to us within 14 days of notifying us.
When returning an item, please ensure you take reasonable care as any damage in transit will result in us being unable to refund part or all of the money that you have paid. You are responsible for the cost of returning an unwanted item to us. Refunds are typically processed within 2 days of receipt of a returned item, but under certain circumstances, such as busy /holiday periods, your refund may take longer to process. The 14- day limit to request a refund does not apply to any item which is faulty, unfit for purpose, or not as described at the time you placed the order. For damaged and faulty items, you have 30 days to contact us. We will cover the cost of these returns and once received will process a full refund.
