Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix

Should I take capsules or powder? and How many servings are there per tub? this blog answers your questions, plus many more

Should I take Re-Lyte capsules or Re-Lyte powders?
Powders and capsules each have their own unique perks depending on your preferences and lifestyle.
Redmond Re-Lyte line includes both capsule products and powdered mixes, and a lot of Redmond’s customers are curious which option they should choose. If you’re still trying to decide which one is right for you, here are a few factors to consider.

The Perks of Powders

The first question you have to ask yourself is: How do I feel about swallowing pills? Around 40% of people in the U.S. have a hard time swallowing pills. If you’re one of them, powders will be an easier way to get the good stuff in.

Capsules also take longer to absorb than powders. That means you have to wait longer for the effects to hit you. So if you want to feel the effects of the Re-Lyte product you’re taking quicker, Redmond’s Re-Lyte mixes might be the choice for you.

Your health history is also a factor. People with gastric bypass surgery or other conditions that make digestion a struggle may not be able to break capsules down completely.

The Perks of Capsules

If those factors aren’t an issue for you, then capsules have some serious perks— like the fact that capsules are more portable and easier to take than powders. You can pop them in your purse or pocket and easily swallow them anywhere (as long as you have a few sips of water with you).

People who have a picky palate or are sensitive to the taste of supplements will also appreciate the fact that capsules are flavourless. You Can Mix and Match

Of course, you don’t have to choose one or the other. A lot of Redmond’s customers use both in different circumstances. For example, you may prefer capsules when you travel and powders when you’re at home. Or you may like to take powders before your morning HIIT workout and capsules before you go on a five-mile run. There are so many ways to mix and match our Re-Lyte products. Do what works best for your lifestyle.

What type of magnesium do Redmond use in Re-Lyte?
Redmond changed the magnesium in Re-Lyte from magnesium citrate to a 50/50 blend of magnesium malate and magnesium glycinate, because this magnesium formulation brings even bigger benefits:

  • Magnesium glycinate contains an amino acid (a building block for protein) called glycine that supports brain health, eases stress, and reduces anxiety.
  • Magnesium malate helps keep blood sugar in balance. Plus, it contains malic acid, an amino acid that promotes muscle strength and recovery to help you power through those tough workouts.
  • Both forms of magnesium in Redmond’s blend are lighter on your stomach and more easily absorbed by your body, so you get the most from every milligram of magnesium in your Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix.

Can I take Re-Lyte if I’m pregnant or nursing?
Re-Lyte should be perfectly safe for pregnant and nursing women, however Redmond do recommend checking with your doctor before starting new supplements.

Re-Lyte is in fact probably a really handy tool to have around during this time in life, since pregnant and nursing women need to pay extra special attention to hydration.

Factors like morning sickness make dehydration far more common during pregnancy. Plus, since you’re supplying nutrients to yourself and the little one inside your womb when you’re pregnant, you need to make sure you’re getting more nutrients than normal anyway— including essential minerals like electrolytes.

You also have higher electrolyte needs when you’re nursing since you’re delivering electrolytes to your baby through your breast milk. Electrolytes are critical to your baby’s growth and development, so getting a healthy dose daily is a great way to help your little one thrive.

What does the stevia leaf extract in Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix do?
Stevia leaf extract is a zero-calorie natural sweetener that can help balance blood sugar.
Stevia leaf extract is a natural sweetener that Redmond add to Re-Lyte Electrolyte to give it just the right amount of sweetness. Redmond chose stevia leaf extract instead of other natural sweeteners because it’s low-carb, zero-calorie, and has some impressive health benefits.

Stevia leaf extract comes from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant, which is native to Paraguay and Brazil (although today, most stevia is grown in China). While other sweeteners cause your blood sugar to spike, research shows that stevia not only keeps your blood sugar stable but may even be able to lower it.

A 2009 study also found that stevia leaf extract may be able to help lower cholesterol. And other research shows that it could have blood pressure benefits as well.

Re-Lyte Electrolyte Mix contains rebaudioside A, a type of stevia leaf extract that’s less bitter (and Redmond think much tastier) than other stevia leaf extracts. It’s also one of the most widely studied forms of stevia, which means Redmond have a solid collection of data that proves it’s safe and effective.
